Lindsey Jones is a NYC-based dance artist. Jones is originally from St. Louis, MO and began her dance training at COCA, The Center for Creative Arts. She graduated cum laude with a BFA from SUNY Purchase in 2012, where she performed works by Nelly van Bommel, Merce Cunningham, John Heginbotham, and Mark Morris. Jones studied abroad at London Contemporary Dance School in 2010. 

Since moving to New York City, Jones has performed with a wide variety of dance artists and companies. She has performed regularly with Dance Heginbotham since 2012 and Pam Tanowitz Dance since 2013. Other artists and companies include: Kimberly Bartosik/daela, Sally Silvers & Dancers, Caleb Teicher & Co., Bill Young/Colleen Thomas & Co, Jordana Toback, Jenny Rocha, GREYZONE, Ian Spencer Bell, June Finch, Adriane Lee/Rosario. Lindsey originated the role of ‘The Cat’ in Isaac Mizrahi’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ and was featured in his directed version of ‘The Magic Flute’, with Opera Theatre of St. Louis. 

Jones has extensive training and experience in Merce Cunningham’s work. She has performed in many workshops and performances with the Cunningham Trust, including their centennial celebration: Night of 100 Solos at the BAM Opera House in 2019. Additionally, Jones is featured in Alla Kovgan’s feature film in 3D, ‘Cunningham’ (2019).

She has worked with a variety of artists on interdisciplinary projects including music videos, site-specific performances, and fashion shows. She appears in music videos by Blood Orange, Zach Cooper, and Stone Cold Fox. In 2017, Jones was featured in Tome’s New York Fall Fashion week with Pam Tanowitz Dance. She has collaborated with visual artists Jonathan Allen and photographer Janelle Jones.

In addition to performing, Lindsey teaches a variety of movement-based classes worldwide. She has taught master classes for Pam Tanowitz Dance at Dartmouth College, Montclair State University, Case Western University, Paul Taylor American Dance Company Winter Intensive, The Yard at Martha’s Vineyard, among others. In 2016, Jones joined Dance Heginbotham as cultural ambassadors of the United States with the DanceMotion USA program, a project of the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), produced by BAM. They traveled to Laos, the Philippines, and Indonesia teaching movement classes for all levels and abilities. Jones is certified to teach Dance for Parkinson's Disease.
